We are pleased to announce that registrations are now open for teams in the Wednesday Twilight Competition – 2015

Competition begins Wednesday 15th of April.

Divisions One and Two – teams of up to ten players welcome.  Cost per player over age 18 is $120, under 18 is $80 (for School Year Level 8 and over).

Please contact me by email or phone for further information or to register teams. Please register teams with player names by 19 March.

Let’s see if we can get six teams in Div One again this year! Call up your friends and make up the numbers we need.

This weekends trial venue has been confirmed as The Warrnambool Hockey Club located on Cramer Street behind The Warrnambool Croquet Club.
The entrance can be found opposite “The Isles General Store” on Cramer Street
between The Warrnambool Croquet Club and the L.P Wenborn Oval located at Warrnambool College.

WARRNAMBOOL – ALL CLUBS WELCOME

ALL PLAYERS (of appropriate age, see “information regarding the 3 available programs” below) within the region welcome. Regardless of club.
Saturday, 17th of January, Harris Street Reserve, 2pm Sharp – 3:30pm.

Players will need to make one Warrnambool trial preferably the second set for late Januaray, early March and one trial local to their club. But of course are welcome and encouarged to make all.
WHAT TO EXPECT AND BRING WHEN YOU TRIAL:
FIRST PRIORITY SIGN IN AND RECEIVE YOUR TRIAL NUMBER
Unfortunately we often don’t know everyone’s names and we’d hate for anyone to be hard to identity from memory (you will keep this number for all trials)
Trials will begin sharply on time therefore allow time to be prepared, registered, and ready to kick off by the allocated time.
If possible we encourage players to bring
1.Football Boots
2. Athletic Shoes
3.Shin pads
4.Hydration
TRIALS THEMSELVES:
Coaches will observe players under two contrasting sessions.
For some trials players will simply be put into teams and told to play for durations of time in certain scenarios, while at other trials players will be put through a training session. Both of these are to get a full gauge of a players mental and physical ability.
Players will have a criteria to meet at the start, end, and during any breaks you may have throughout the trial. This criteria measures not just ability but also, foresight, understanding, attitude and respect. This helps us to choose players that we can not only develop, but players that will not hinder the development and enjoyment of others.
Coaches will be available at the end of the trials to discuss with anyone, any queries they have on the trial of a player. Please wait until the coaches are ready before approaching.
PLEASE ENSURE TO LET US KNOW OF ANY PRIOR HEALTH CONCERNS OR INJURIES SO WE, CAN ENSURE THE SAFETY OF ALL PLAYERS AND ENSURE EVERYONE HAS A FAIR CHANCE. PLEASE BRING ALL MEDICAL NEEDS.
FOR PLAYERS AND PARENTS:
We encourage everyone possible to trial for any eligible programs even if they don’t plan to participate. We believe it is good for all parties to simply see the standard of all players within the region and to at least give it a try.
Before attending if possible let us know of your or your childs attendance by simply sending us a text, facebook message or email this simply makes it easier for us to be prepared.

INFORMATION REGARDING THE 3 AVAILABLE PROGRAMS:
South West Football Academy
South West Football Associations – Representative Squads
South West Football Academy and Representative Squad – WOMEN
All programs aim to provide a fun safe environment to further develop players and provide further footballing opportunities
All programs are stretched over the year to compliment your home club’s season as well as public and school holidays in most instances.
ALL PROGRAMS INVOLVE TRAVELING FOR EVENTS AND TRAINING AT SOME TIME. AS WELL AS SOME FORM OF COST.
South West Football Academy:
40 session program (2 Sessions per week), focusing on youth development for players in regards to The National Curriculum. A pathway to further football, (NPL, NYL) and a requirement of all players wishing to play state football. The program also addresses sportsmanship, respect and discipline, as well as fitness and flexibility with footballing longevity and injury resistance in mind.
Some NPL teams may also use the academy to reduce training sessions at their NPL club location therefore reducing traveling costs and time for families.
This program has an attendance rate policy of 85%. And a yearly cost.
Eligible: Females and Males born ( 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999)
South West Football Associations – Representative Squads: (name to be decided) (OPEN TRAINING)
This is a competitive squad for all players within the region.
This squad will compete at competitions such as the CLFA Country Championships and Boys FC. As well as inter league, inter club and possibly inter state matches.
This squad requires trials for every event as placement is reliant on current performance and availability relative to the time of the event. Open trials and training take place once a month, dates yet to be determined, while closed trainings will happen once to twice a week closer to events.
Costs are event based, all OPEN TRAINING is free to attend.
For males and Females born ( 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2000, 2001, 1999)
South West Football Academy and Representative Squad – WOMEN:
For Logistical reasons the women’s program is also the representative squad.
The women’s program is split into two categories to help progress development and again for logistical reasons.
These categories are U18: Born (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002) and O18 (1996 and any year prior).
U18:
40 session program (2 sessions per week), focusing on youth development for players in regards to The National Curriculum. A pathway to further football, (State league 1, W-League) and a requirement of all players wishing to play state football. The program also addresses sportsmanship, respect and discipline, as well at fitness and flexibility with footballing longevity and injury resistance in mind.
This program has an attendance rate policy of 85%. And a yearly cost.
The squad will compete at competitions such as the CLFA Country Championships and Girls FC. As well as inter league, inter club and possibly inter state matches.
There will be extra costs for events and competitions but there is no attendance rate policy for anything out of the 40 sessions therefore women should feel no pressure to attend competitions but rather a want. The squad will only attend such events if their is enough want and if the want meets the financial needs.
At all ages events the O18 women will also be available to play.
Due to the unofficial footballing adulthood age of 16, women born 1998 or prior may be ineligible for some competitions and will therefore be asked to attend such competitions to give support and coaching assistance and therefore given priority picks (as long as the correct attitude is maintained throughout the program) at future events where their age isn’t restricted.
OVR18:
OVR18 Players are invitation only, usually OVR18 players are ineligible for such programs and in a way still are.
We can not advertise that the program for OVR18 players is a pathway to further football. As it is highly unlikely, but within football anything is possible.
Therefore OVR18 players asked to trial, train, and participate in further events are not subject to an attendance rate and may not be subject to the same fees as the U18 women but will still pay fair fees.
We are currently over viewing how we administrate OVR18 players as some, if not all, will be in and out of the squad throughout the year. As they are mainly invited to help the development of the U18 women as well as keep the squad competitive at some events.
Therefore all OVR18 women invited to participate in the program or events need to individually discuss requirements with Tim in person.
We also ask that all OVR18 women understand the main focus of the program is youth development while still having fun

Highlights from South West Games

We had a little bit of rain Saturday for the Junior competition, but it cleared up enough for everyone to get burnt!  We had a fabulous day with lots of teams in Under 8, Under 10 and Under 15’s.

3 Hamilton Teams made it into the finals between Juniors & Seniors and unfortunately we didn’t have a win, but I’m sure everyone had a great time versing teams from across the South West (including Mt Gambier).  So a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who travelled to make the tournament fun for all!!

The Hamilton Soccer Club have been asked to assist in the Opening Ceremony to be held at the Hamilton Showgrounds on Friday 31st October from 6.30pm.
The organisers would like approximately 30 of our junior players to be involved in leading out the different sporting organisations involved in the SW Games.

2014 Disks are now available to order

Disks are $5 each and there is a disk consisting of each of the following age groups:

U/8

U/12

U/15

Please email your order ASAP to Samantha Kaspers – craft2u.sam@gmail.com or phone 0427 519 969 with the number of disks you would like to order.  The disks consist of an 8″x10″ photo as seen below (all images are high resolution) which you can have printed wherever you like, along with various game/training photos throughout the season (including the parents match).

There is no limit, so if you would like extra for you family for Christmas, feel free to order as many as you like!  All proceeds from the disks go directly to the Soccer Club and disks will be available for collection at our end of year dinner on Friday night 17th of October (where payment can be made) @ The Hamilton Harness Club.  Alternatively you could collect them at South West Games on 1/11/14.
