2014 has been another HUGE year of soccer for both the Senior & U/15 Teams in the Warrnambool District Soccer League!
The Seniors did a tremendous job getting sooo close to the grand final, just getting knocked out at the very end of the season. Well done to all the players!!
Under 15 made it to the grand final for 2014 and played Merri Stingrays.
after a slightly shaky start we scored and were away! Ending up 6-3 and watching out watches waiting for the game to end! What a fantastic day with all the team playing a superb match despite all of our injuries in the week or two leading up to the finals!!
We must give a HUGE thank you to our wonderful coach Steve who put so much thought and effort into the season, all the boys turning up to training and giving their all when asked and to our Under 15 Major Sponsor Manse Medical (the uniforms look great!)
We look forward to seeing everyone at our Presentation Dinner on Friday 17th of October @ the Hamilton Harness Club. More information will follow regarding this.
It was a glorious day in “Sunny Hamilton” for the traditional end of term Parents Match! The Under 8s were eager to get started and give their parents a run for their money!! The Under 12s were eager to give their coach a run for his money… And the Under 15s, well you’d have to be pretty tough to take them on!! The Under 15s are practicing their new move “the Crane” And a “leap” The Parents finally scored a goal against the Under 15s. It seemed like EVERYONE had a fantastic time and enjoyed themselves! The kids were very eager to line up and get their sausage after all that hard work! And they seemed to go down a treat! Even Captain Cupcake helped with a bit of cooking. You can NEVER be too dirty to have a sausage!! The traditional ute pile-in. Initiating some of the under 8s this time too.
This year the Country Championships were held in Ballarat from 28th to 30th of June. Hamilton sent along 7 players who played alongside the Warrnambool and Corangamite boys. 5 in Under 15 and 2 in under 12.
The weather was miserable, but spirits were high and the boys certainly gave it their all! Dylan was the only scorer out of the Hamilton kids and it was certainly a brilliant goal!
There was lots of stiff competition at the tournament and it was great to meet other teams from across Victoria.
Henry and Callum played in goals and stopped quite a few shots while Dylan and Jack played wing, Nathan played centre back and centre forward while Aiden played centre back and half back. Will played right back and did a brilliant job earning captain on the 2nd day of play.
It was wonderful seeing a sea of red Hamilton jackets down in Ballarat, we were certainly dryer than everyone else and it was so much easier to find anyone from Hamilton! It was also great to have the support of our President who came down to watch and show her support! A huge thanks to everyone who participated in the weekend and all the weeks training leading up to the tournament, it was fantastic!
